I started playing competitive chess while in middle school on the team at the J.R. Masterman school in 1992.  I have served as a Chess Coach, Organizer & Tournament Director in the Philadelphia area since 2003. I received my Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002 and my Master’s Degree in Urban Education from Temple University in 2007. Since 2003, my chess initiatives have included:
